By nature of its permanence a building should be beautiful, functional and respectful of the land on which it rests. Construction is a vastly resource-intensive process and therefore it ought to be incumbent upon us to design buildings such that they may not only be lasting, but as well protect the health of their occupants and the finite resources of our planet. The process by which these goals are possible requires an intelligent and holistic approach to architecture. Such a process requires creativity within constraints and collaboration among the team of Architect, Owner, Builder and Consultants.

Fundamental to this approach studio b endeavors to preserve the place of art in the practice of architecture. As in many aspects of the natural world, it is the underlying logic of structure, rhythm, pattern and scale that create for us a sense of beauty. It is the careful compilation of these parts that becomes the essence of well-designed architecture.
